Working Late

Unfortunately, sometimes reality gets in the way of our objectives.  I had to wrap up some work items yesterday, so I didn’t make it to the Club for a game.  However, every cloud has a silver lining.  I hadn’t had a chance to look at my game from last week yet. So, I went over it last night.

It’s not pretty, but some of the most instructive lessons come from our mistakes.  The ending was lost from the outset, but there were several opportunities to put up better resistance.  Here is my analysis.

Added PGN Viewer

Well, at the suggestion of a freind I add a PGN viewer to the Chess Dog Journal.  The new viewer allow you to step through the game and inspect any position you like, not just the ones I pick out.  It also supports stepping into variations.

On the tactics problems, you can now try your choice of move by selecting a piece and moving it.  You get three tries before it automatically shows you the correct continuation.

I think it is a nice improvement, but you will have to tell me what you think.  My thanks to Dave Edmonds for pointing me to Palview.  As Dave said, it is a little hard to set up.  But, I think it looks very good.
